Hello Fan Pinners! It looks like we have some interest and I am so excited to have another amazing event to do at the Expo! I got a head start on my pins this weekend for the swap, and if you want spoilers for my pin, keep an eye out for a new blog post coming soon!
Just a reminder, you must click 'Going' to this event here so we know you're actually participating. Being a member of the Pin Swap Facebook group does not mean that you're participating, so please head on over and sign up for the actual event if you haven't already. Sign up by August 9th, 2019 to guarantee a spot to swap and to give everyone some time to work on their pins.
As of 7.12.19 we have 15 confirmed attendees. If you want to get a head start on your pins, I think making 20 pins would probably be a decent estimate. If we don't wind up with many more people involved, you can always swap with other Pinners you may find on the show floor throughout the day.
Current List of Pinners Swapping:
- Desiree D.
- Kattya B.
- Yani G.
- Dervin S.
- Joe M.
- Allison A.
- Jennie P.
- E Lorraine C.
- Dawn G.
- Colleen M.
- Sara R.

The swap will be Friday, August 23rd at 6:30 p.m. The Show floor closes at 6 on Friday so you should have time to get your swap and meet up with us. The location is going to be announced the day before by one of the Admins--Dervin, Joe or myself. It will likely be close to the crop entrance and a sign will be made.
We've had a few questions about the pins, so to clarify, these pins should be unique to you. The Expo Crew's pins are special to them and your pin should tell us a little about you. Whether it be your favorite color, something you are passionate about, a cute saying or something you like to create with, your pins should be something that inspires you. You can certainly use the color scheme of The Expo or even make a knockoff pin (Joe! lol), but it is not required. However, please make all of your pins similar, so we all get the same thing.
Some tips for making your pin:
- If using paper for your pin, back it with cardboard or a few cereal boxes cut down to size to ensure it's sturdy enough for the pin to be worn
- Attach your pin to a business or calling card, or write your name on the back so we know who it was from
- There are many different types of pins from traditional clasp backs to butterfly clutch pins. Use what you have or get some that are inexpensive
- If using hot glue be careful leaving it in your car-- it will likely melt! Instead use E600, epoxy or crazy glue
Awesome job Allison. Very clear... couldn't have said it better myself! I cannot wait 😊
